From Generative AI to Trump 2.0 era!
There's so much happening around us; honestly, I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed and I'm okay sharing that with you! Just as I was settling into this new AI-driven world, here I am now, trying to embrace the bold changes that are starting to unfold in the "Trump 2.0" era.
And speaking of eras, you won’t believe who I saw at Costco yesterday!
It seems Toronto is in the middle of its own transformation, with Taylor Swift’s Eras tour lighting up the city. Quite the time for reflection and new beginnings!
In the spirit of all this change, I wanted to share a tool that’s designed to help us make sense of all these swirling transitions—Google's NotebookLM.
It's an AI tool that converts complex topics into conversational, digestible content. I thought now would be the perfect time to explore it because, let’s be honest, navigating the rapid changes in politics, AI, and culture can feel overwhelming.
NotebookLM is like having a conversation partner who helps make sense of big shifts, breaking down dense information into something manageable and engaging.
For this post, I wanted to try something different: exploring the potential impacts of Trump’s win on the economy in the “NotebookLM style”. Here is the link to the article.
So imagine this article as a “two-person podcast,” guiding you through what would Trump’s presidency mean to the world economy and your money. In a time of such transformation, a bit of clarity and simplicity feels like exactly what we need.
1. Go To: NotebookLM
2. Create New
If you are new to NotebookLM then you will be prompted to create a new notebook, like below. Click ‘Create’.
If you have used NotebookLM before, then click ‘New Notebook’
3. Add Sources
When setting up a notebook, you'll be asked to add sources that help NotebookLM provide responses grounded in the information that matters most to you.
These sources can include a variety of materials, such as links, YouTube videos, ChatGPT prompts etc.
I pasted the link to the article I mentioned above.
4. Click ‘Notebook Guide’
When you submit your sources, the ‘Notebook Guide’ will automatically appear. If it doesn’t, you can access it in the bottom right-hand corner of your notebook.
Once the Notebook Guide is open, you'll see an option to generate an audio overview.
5. Generate Podcast
6. Download Podcast:
After you click ‘Generate’, it will take a couple of minutes for your podcast to be generated. Once it has done so, you can download it as an audio file:

Now, in the world of HR, I can think of many use cases and few examples are:
Learning and Development Content Curation
Use Case: By compiling resources like course content, research articles, or training videos, NotebookLM can provide summaries or suggest learning paths tailored to individual employees’ development goals.
Benefit: Personalized learning paths for employees, making it easier for HR to support ongoing skill development and align it with organizational needs.
HR Policy Communication and FAQs
Use Case: HR teams can use NotebookLM to compile HR policies, benefits documents, and other resources. The tool can then create a conversational FAQ format, making it easier for employees to find answers to common HR questions.
Benefit: Reduces repetitive inquiries to HR and empowers employees to self-serve, enhancing efficiency and employee satisfaction.
By transforming data into digestible insights and easy-to-follow conversations, NotebookLM can empower HR teams to focus on what truly matters: supporting employees and driving organizational growth.
Using and trying out tools like these is not just about keeping up with change—it’s about leading it.
